Raising the Roof...Literally 6"

These wood beams were holding up the trusses because of the serious leaks in the roof. We thought we may have to get a new steel beam to support the entirety of the trusses or replace some of the them (which would be hard to find).

My contractor suggested a flitch method, so over the last 3 weeks we hydraulically lifted the ceiling 6 inches. When the trusses were flush with the others they were flitched together with steel. Today the metal beams came out and the whole room is now open and no more sagging roof.
